Your.MD’s Top Health Tips for Improving Mood

Taking time for yourself to relax on a daily basis can really boost your mood. Relaxation is different from person-to-person. Some ideas include taking to read, meditating, getting active, cooking or doing something creative. Experiment, and see what’s right for you!.

If you have been feeling persistently low in mood for more than two weeks, then it may be time to see your doctor. Depression is extremely common and easily treatable. Remember that your mental health is as important as your physical health.

Have you tried mindfulness? There are different ways to practise it in your daily life, but each way involves being aware of your thoughts and feelings in the present moment. Though not the answer for everyone, it can prevent recurrent depression and boost your mental wellbeing.

Keeping a mood diary can be an insightful way of recognising your triggers for low mood and make small changes to your daily routine. Common triggers include not sleeping properly, eating an unbalanced diet, not having enough time to relax and drinking too much caffeine or alcohol.

Ask for help if you need it. If you recognise that you have been feeling persistently low in mood or are finding it increasingly difficult to cope, seek help. It is always okay for you to speak to someone, whether that is a family member, friend or a doctor.

Lifestyle to the Teenagers

Lifestyle encompasses a whole range of childhood issues including the ways in which children are involved in making choices about their own interests and hobbies and how they spend their time. Children and young people need to be encouraged and supported to experience and explore the fullest range possible of activities and interests. Fun and play are fundamental to children's health and development and it is vital that the time, space, priority and resources are given over to ensuring that children have opportunities for play and leisure. There is a real need to ensure a good balance between protecting children on the one hand and allowing the freedom to play and explore their environment on the other. As children grow we must support and empower them to respect, value and take good care of their bodies and minds and to seek help and advice to help them do so. This includes a commitment to actively protect children and young people from the damaging and risky effects of tobacc...

Think Well

How to think like a programmer — lessons in problem solving By  Richard Reis If you’re interested in programming, you may well have seen this quote before: “Everyone in this country should learn to program a computer, because it teaches you to think.” — Steve Jobs You probably also wondered what does it mean, exactly, to think like a programmer? And  how  do you do it?? Essentially,   it’s all about  a more effective way for problem solving . In this post, my goal is to teach you that way. By the end of it, you’ll know exactly what steps to take to be a better problem-solver. Why is this important? Problem solving is the meta-skill. We all have problems. Big and small. How we deal with them is sometimes, well…pretty random. Unless you have a system, this is probably how you “solve” problems (which is what I did when I started coding): Try a solutio...

The Depression of thoughts

All The Numerous Ways I’ve Failed At Curing My Depression By  Shado Evans ,  I had no idea what was happening to me. I had no map in dealing with whatever was plaguing my mentality. I didn’t know where I was going, I just knew I was going south. I figured whatever it was would go away soon enough, so I did nothing. It didn’t go away. I spent the bulk of my days lying in bed until my mattress became indented in the center. I soundtracked this indolence with playlist chalked full of Kid Cudi and Elliot Smith dirges. I smoked bunk weed and binge-watched TV series’ multiple times over instead of honoring social engagements. I stuffed myself with high fructose corn syrup and other ingredients with scientific names and questionable nutritional value. I hid out in figurative closets, dimly lit dive bars and under unwashed duvet covers. I masturbated like I was sponsored. I felt myself getting irritated and rustled easily. I felt like my friends were a cause of my mindset ...
